Boy times sure have changed...how many times have you heard that one. I never thought I would be saying that, but it is the ugly truth. I hate being old, but let's face it, the kids don't understand how the world works. You can't really blame the kids, especially mainstream kids, most of them have it pretty good, and if not, they are getting by. But kids don't get it. They think that when they live in their parents house that it is their house and they own it, almost as if they got paid to go to school. What mainstream kids don't understand is that it is probably only going to be their house for 18 years. That is unless they go to college for another four years. From then on out you are basically on your own, that is unless you get disabled and can't work and have to live with family. And even then, your situation is precarious, because you normally have to find a place to live and pay the rent...that is the real world. Kid's don't get it; they think school is work. Well if it is, most kids don't get paid to go to school. It is required of them by law. They should consider themselves lucky if they get an allowance or are rewarded for good grades. Now this doesn't mean that school is a waste of time, most times it isn't and kids learn alot of important skills from school, but in the real world we say "sh*t" happens. So study hard kids, one day you'll have to pay for the food, rent, mortgage, clothing, and transportation for you and your family. And the only way you'll get out of it, is if you inherit a bunch of stuff, or hit the big time...mark my words, most people don't. Just a word to all you adolescent members of the Colbert Nation, most people don't get their own comedy show on Comedy Central, and most kids don't get to be on the Saturday Night Live, or tour with John Mayer. Most have to settle into normal careers and jobs. And psst...in case you are wondering, working at the gas station is NOT a good job!Working America is the core of America and All-Americans. Disabled Americans are All-Americans too, but alot of them are disabled because of years of hard work...not school. That is the real reason why we have Federal Disability programs in America. Psst...little secret...disability money is money that disabled people earned years ago that was held by the government for them for just such an emergency. Still most disabled All-Americans want to go back to work, but some times people can make this seem downright impossible.
That's why we keep asking ourselves the question, Why Are People Messing with All-Americans?
